Published on the occasion of an exhibition of the same title at the agnès b. galerie boutique in Tokyo, Memoria presents photographer Chad Moore's first hardcover publication. The book includes 100 images by Moore, featuring both glowing landscapes and intimate portraits, pictures of friends who appear both in pairs and alone, euphoric and isolated. While Moore, an alumnus of Ryan McGinley’s NYC studio, employs the McGinley-typical warm filter of nostalgia for his pictures, he uses the effect to look forward rather than yearn for the past. A short text by artist and poet Jack Walls sits in the centerfold.
