Pacific is a multidisciplinary creative studio and publishing house based in New York City. Through a contemporary art lens, we work with institutions, brands, and individuals to conceptualize how they communicate through design. Our mission is to cultivate long-lasting creative relationships that result in community and organizational growth, social exploration, and enduring objects in the hands of the public.

Now is the time to create for the future.

Pacific was founded as a collaborative creative practice in 2016 by Adam Turnbull and Elizabeth Karp-Evans, with the main focus being artist publications. Since then Pacific has evolved into a full service creative agency. The studio specializes in branding and print and digital design with an emphasis on contemporary art and culture. We value process and always take a holistic approach to projects. From ideation and strategy, to design, through production and launch, dialogue with our collaborators takes center stage. Success for us is being in conversation with our collaborators, now and for years to come.

Our eponymous publishing imprint produces an average of twenty titles per year. A third of these titles are published by Pacific with the remainder being designed and produced by the studio. We distribute titles throughout the world through our online store as well as through our global distribution partner Distributed Art Publishers (DAP). We specialize in the creation of artists books and have a deep affinity for the book as an object. Pacific has designed and/or published first monographs and artist books for Isabelle Albuquerque, Alvaro Barrington, Rick Lowe, Sable Elyse Smith, Shaun Leonardo, Servane Mary, Tschabalala Self, Toyin Ojih Odutola and more. In 2022, the Museum of Modern Art Library in New York acquired the entire Pacific catalogue.
