Reginald Sylvester II
Painter's Refuge: A Way of Life
Painter's Refuge: A Way of Life showcases works from Reginald Sylvester II's first museum show at the Harvey B. Gantt Center in Sylvester's hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina. The publication includes installation views from the exhibition alongside artist interviews with Marshall N. Price and Franklin Sirmans, and an essay by Rachel Waldrop. The deconstructed volume—part artists book, part catalogue, displaying a Swiss binding and a cut-out cover that reveals silver interior pages—mimics the cut canvases and exposed frames in Sylvester's most recent body of paintings.
