This publication will accompany Berkeley Art Museum & Pacific Film Archive’s upcoming exhibition, Maren Hassinger: Living Moving Growing which will be the most significant retrospective of the work of the artist to date, presenting her work across sculpture, performance, video, and installation from the early 1970s to the present. The book will feature new archival ephemera of Hassinger’s life as an artist in New York and Los Angeles, as well as contributions by Hilton Als, Adam Avila, Robyn Farrell, Linda Goode Bryant, Anthony Graham, Ava Hassinger, Krisin Juarez, Senga Nengudi, Margot Norton, Cole Palatini, Julie Rodrigues Widholm, and Lowery Stokes Sims.
