 Alake Shilling’s characters travel through a saturated world where disco and Lisa Frank collide, often in a grassy knoll or ocean swell. In The Hippest Trip in America - By Land, Air and Sea, they are displayed alongside Shilling’s source material and translated into a sticker sheet inset on the back cover of the book. Texts by Laura Owens, Kidogo Kennedy, Perwana Nazif, and Grant Levy-Lucero compliment a series of works from Shilling's solo exhibition with Jeffrey Deitch Gallery.
